Springtime is officially here in Altanta and you know what that means..
Its officially PATIO SEASON! It’s that time of year when hibernating Atlantans emerge onto the beltline to soak up all the sunshine before pollen kicks into full gear, and everything is coated in a fine yellow film and we are unable to breathe.
Patios have long since been a tradition here in the south. From sipping sweet tea (or Rosé) on the front porch to bocce at ladybird on a Saturday. One thing is for sure, Atlantans love a good patio, sunshine, and an ice-cold beverage to make us forget about the daily struggles of traffic and pollen.
Here is your guide to some of the best Patios on the Beltline to enjoy the sunshine, mingle with others, and take in all the amazingness that is Atlanta Patios.
SIDE NOTE: Patios are listed in order of a Beltline Patio crawl, not by ranking…Because Atlanta Has too many amazing patios to pick a number 1! Cheers

Start your journey on the newest part of the Eastside Trail at Muchacho. Muchacho boasts a quaint patio located off the ever-changing Memorial Drive. The atmosphere at Muchacho is vibrant and eclectic yet low key, a perfect combination to grab a coffee or breakfast taco and begin your journey on finding the best Patios on the Eastside Beltline.
Side note: Muchacho is created and owned by the team who brought you Ladybird: Grove and Mess Hall; which is also on our list of top patios. I mean they know how to deliver a good patio, and both are pet-friendly!
MUST ORDER: Topo Chico or latte and a few Breakfast style tacos. My fav: I the Migas

The pronunciation of (su-per-i-ca or super-rica) is still up for debate, but this patio is not! Located at Krog Street Market, Superica has a great covered patio to beat the atlanta heat all while still being “outdoorsy” and by outdoorsy I mean getting tipsy on a patio. Ask any Atlantan and they will sing the praises of Chef Ford Fry. He is a legend here, and his vision can be sunmmed up in his words:
I want to create restaurants that strike a timeless emotional chord. Restaurants that don’t pander to trend, but draw generations of families together.
– Ford Fry
MUST ORDER: Make sure you try the infamous queso Fundido and wash it down with The O.G. Margarita
ADDRESS: 99 Krog Street Atlanta, GA 30307
Located a stone’s throw from Krog Street market Lingering shade is at the corner of the Irwin Street Market and the Eastside Trail. Lingering shade has a French brasserie vibe and the perfect patio to people watch on the beltline while enjoying a refreshing (and inexpensive) bottle of rose. We have been known to do some damage to the rose supply here. The patio is large and airy and what tops it off is its
MUST ORDER: a bottle (or 2 or 3) of rose and catch up with friends.

Ladybird is the quintessential patio of the Beltline to see and be seen. You and the entire population of Atlanta can be found under the big yellow umbrellas on a beautiful spring day. Don’t let the crowds deter you, this place is worth it! Skip the lines by getting a drink from the Happy Camper outside or one of the many popup bars they will have as the weather gets pretty and patio season is in full swing. They offer a great selection of local beers and great “Patio Punch.” The atmosphere resembles that of an urban recreation and campground (sans the kumbaya and bears, well, I take that back there is the famous bear painting in the main dining hall). Ladybird is a great stop on the beltline with plenty of bicycle parking and is dog-friendly; which makes it easy to cruise off the beltline and park for some epic patio time. Secure a spot at one of the communal picnic tables, grab a local Creature Comfort: Tropicalia and make some new friends this spring.
Looking to kick a hangover with a
MUST ORDER: Avocado toast, local beer selections like Creature Comforts Tropicalia (aka trop), Picnic Basket is great for sharing and wash it all down with one of their special libations or a local brew on tap.
ADDRESS: 684 John Wesley Dobbs Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30312
Barcelona Wine Bar: Inman Park is a GREAT people watching spot off the beltline located in the heart of Inman Park (one of our favorite area in Atlanta) If you are looking for some incredible Spanish tapas and delicious wine then look no further. Since the weather in Atlanta is unpredictable, Barcelona offers covered patio, heaters and of course the cozy fire! A bonus is that if you take your receipt across the street to VinoTeca (their wine store) you can receive 10% off your purchase.
MUST ORDER: Meet and cheese board is a must! Special shout out to the Cana De Oveja and Drunken Goat….so delicious! Chicken Pimientos, shishito peppers and a bottle of your choice to share!
ADDRESS: 240 North Highland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30307
Tacos and Tequila Enough said. In all realness, Bartaco has some of the BEST margaritas in the city, and I pride myself on being a margarita connoisseur. I prefer the spicy (Bartaco plus jalapeños) these margs are fresh and will sneak up on ya! Consider this your warning. Bartaco is located in Inman Park and has a great indoor/outdoor concept. It has a Southern California feel (minus the pretentiousness) and a mix of southern charm. Great patio for gathering with friends and people watching. All of their tacos (and more) are small portions so you can try quite a few different things.
MUST ORDER: BarTaco Margarita (Spicy), Start: Fried Plantains, Guacamole, ask for their secret taco, Baja Fish, Street corn (off the cob)
ADDRESS: 299 n. highland avenue NE Atlanta, GA 30307
Another gem is BeetleCat by the one and only Ford Fry. Beetlecat is made up of two different areas Beetlecat: the main restaurant and a bit more upscale, and The Den: Downstairs laid back 70’s nautical-themed bar and patio. The DEN is reminiscent of the movie set of JAWS (sans the great white). Its a great place to play some board games and grab some oysters or Donut Brunch…yep you read that correctly DONUT BRUNCH! And no visit to The DEN would be complete without playing a game or two of giant Jenga with your fellow Atlantans. Fair warning, these games have been known to get intense! If you ever see us out there its game on!
MUST ORDER: DONUT BRUNCH!!! Champagne Punch
ADDRESS: 299 North Highland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30307
Located on the rooftop of the Bazati building (which houses the brasserie restaurant and numerous shops) you will find Estrella the newest rooftop kid on the block. This is a beautiful rooftop with a 1950’s art deco vibe mixed with a touch of Yucatan. A great place to snack on a few small plates and indulge in some special libations. This place has a great vibe and patio that
MUST ORDER: Hemingway’s Daiquiri, Ceviche, The Pulpo and mexican street corn.
ADDRESS: 550 Somerset Terrace NE Suite 102, Atlanta, GA 30306
New Realm is the newest brewery on the beltline and the lines form for good reason. Enjoy some of their delicious IPA’s, Pilsners, and even a Raspberry Brut Rosé Ale; for those who are into non-traditional beers. Whatever your palette grab a cold one and take in the views of Atlanta from the rooftop beer garden. The rooftop boasts great views of the beltline and city. They also have some great bites (including vegan and gluten-free options) to help soak up all that delicious beer.
MUST ORDER: Beer, BBQ Shrimp Open Faced Tacos, Grandma’s banana pudding
ADDRESS: 550 Somerset Terrace NE #101, Atlanta, GA 30306
Ok, not necessarily a “patio” per se, but more of a rooftop patio; which in my opinion is even more rad. I would be amiss if I didn’t give the Clermont Hotel rooftop the credit it deserves! It doesn’t get much better than sipping some Frosé on top of the iconic (newly renovated) Clermont hotel, watching the sunset over Ponce. The Clermont Rooftop is a must see when visiting Atlanta! Fair warning, it gets PACKED, so come early or grab some dinner at the fabulous Tiny Lous (you get a “bypass the line pass” to the rooftop after) then head upstairs for a nightcap. Day or night the Clermont is an Atlanta staple and cannot be missed. Depending on how your night goes you may even head to the basement and meet the infamous Blondie at the Clermont Lounge.
MUST ORDER: Frosé…Duh!
