I recently traveled to Boston for a Women’s Leadership conference and decided to go up the day before so I could see what all the hype was about.  Boston did not disappoint.

Arrived in Boston bright and early, dropped off my bags and grabbed a lyft into downtown Boston.

TRAVEL TIP⇒ I try to always use Lyft because you can link your Delta SkyMiles and get points (I’m ALL about some SkyMiles) Click here to check it out.

Ok, back to Boston….Boston is a city rich in history but also rich in amazing food so the first stop was to get some lunch.

EAT:

  • Cultivar
  • Union Oyster House
  • Boston Public Market: Union Square Donuts
  • Bin 26 Enoteca
  • Alden and Harlow

After much research via Thrillist (my go-to for the local scene) and eater, I decided to check out Cultivar.  It is a very warm inviting atmosphere with a fresh vibe.  All the ingredients are locally sourced which I prefer whenever I travel.  Chef Mary Dumont did a phenomenal job orchestrating the creative menu.  I opted for the Ahi Tuna Tataki: It had a mixture of amazing flavors and textures that made the dish very memorable.  The dish consisted of fresh Ahi Tuna atop cucumber · avocado · cashews · charred radish + asparagus · yuzu · puffed black rice and OF COURSE it was accompanied by a delicious glass of Rosé.

TRAVEL TIP⇒ In order to try as many different dishes and drinks as possible eat small plates at each place.  It’s a great way to experience the local fare and vibes of the city especially when you have limited time.

After lunch, I was off to the waterfront to see the boats in the harbor and of course, find one of the oldest operating restaurants in the US: Ye olde Union Oyster house est 1826. Many famous patrons dined at this famous watering hole including J.F.K. which there is now a private booth named in his honor.  CONDÉ NAST Travelers recently named Union Oyster House— Best Restaurants in Boston 2018 and that couldn’t be truer in my eyes,

This was my favorite spot on my Boston journey.

TRAVEL TIP⇒ it at the historic “semi-circular” Oyster Bar downstairs.

This is when I realized how much I love the People of Boston.  Sitting at the quant circular bard makes it easy to exchange conversation and get to know your neighbor.  In true southern style, I did just that.  We all dined on freshly shucked oysters and amazing flaky (true Boston style) Fish-n-chips, the Oysters accompanied by….you guessed it…Rosé! The bar was mixed with locals and out of towners alike.  I learned how friendly (and sports proud) the Bostonians truly are, great company.  The oysters were so fresh and Super briny (my preferred taste) I could’ve stayed there all day and dined on a dozen more, but I knew there was more of Boston to see.

INTERESTING FACT The toothpick was first used in the United States at the Union Oyster House!

Next Stop, a 6-minute walk to the BOSTON PUBLIC MARKET.  whenever I travel I like to wander around the local markets to find one of a kind local food, beverages, and of course shopping.   Boston Public Market has a great selection of local Boston Delicacies and some cute gift shops.  I didn’t spend too much time here, but it was a nice reprieve from the heat and a great place to grab a vegan donut from Union Square Donuts to fuel me on my journey.

I then journeyed through Boston by foot and made my way over to the famous BEACON HILL Neighborhood, and I must say the charm won me over.  Quaint little coffee shops and boutiques lined the cobblestoned streets of the history enriched Beacon Hill.

SHOPPING: I had to stop in a store called Paridaez.

Paridaez stems from an ancient Persian word meaning a garden, later adopted by the Greeks as the Garden of Eden or heaven and then adapted into English as “paradise.”

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”3.12.1″][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”3.0.47″ parallax=”off” parallax_method=”on”][et_pb_image src=”https://jeroam.co/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/IMG_522AFC1C212A-1.jpeg” _builder_version=”3.13.1″][/et_pb_image][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”3.0.47″ parallax=”off” parallax_method=”on”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.13.1″]

The designer and founder Allison Daroie was fabulous.  All of the pieces in the shop can be worn multiple ways.  This concept is brilliant especially for someone who travels since I like to be able to minimally pack and also have many options for outfits.  The color schemes were muted neutral and rich greys.  All the pieces flatter a women’s body so well, no wonder Paridaez was named ” Best of Boston 2018″ along with many other accolades.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”3.12.1″ custom_padding=”0px|0px|0|0px|false|false”][et_pb_row custom_padding=”5px|0px|2px|0px|false|false” _builder_version=”3.12.1″][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”3.0.47″ parallax=”off” parallax_method=”on”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.13.1″]

The Paridaez line transforms into completely different articles of clothing so you can do what you want, when you want.  We apply minimalist and essentialist principles while creating utilitarian pieces with clean, chic & contemporary design… keeping in mind less but better. Simplicity, versatility & quality are the foundation of our brand.

After trying on and wanting everything in the store I settled on 4 pieces and was on my way to the next stop (recommended by Allision herself)……

BIN 26 Ecoteca was a great place for a pit stop Rose and a phone charge while I researched my next adventures.

A stroll through the Boston Public Garden was a must  The park was so serene with massive weeping willows and plenty of shade to regroup before I ventured on.  Definitely check out the art!  My Fav: “Make Way for Ducklings” statue.

Harvard Square is a bustling triangle located in historic Cambridge adjacent to the Harvard yards. You can’t make a trip to Boston without making a trip to Historic and prestigious Harvard Square.  Comprised of little shops, restaurants, and of course the historic Harvard University.  Take a stroll around the prestigious Harvard campus before making your way towards the business area of Harvard Square.  You never know what you may see from a random drum circle to some incredible historic books shops; Harvard square is a great area to wander around and get a feel for historic Cambridge.  DINNER: Alden and Harlow Don’t let the location fool you.  Hard to spot at first but down a quiet set of stairs sits Alden and Harlow.  Once you open the doors of this “subterranean, modern comfortable space” you will see what the hype is all about.  This place is definitely has something for all the senses.  The Mood is set by Edison lighting and comprised of reclaimed wood and modern subway tile.  Very inviting farm to table atmosphere.  FOOD: since EVERYTHING on the menu looked amazing and a bit unfamiliar we went with the suggestion of the waitress and she DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Some of the highlights include: UBIQUITOUS KALE SALAD, FRIED BRUSSELS SPROUTS, GRILLED BLUEFISH, WELLFLEET COUNTNECK CLAMS. There is still soooooo much to see and do in Boston and cannot wait for our next adventure to this Historic town.  Until then Cheers to next time!
